Rod Jenkins clinics in OZ ...

Postby BEN MAHER on Thu Jul 29, 2010 11:13 pm

Just thought I'd share with you all ...

I'm hosting two Rod Jenkins clinic here in Australia over the next two weeks . So all us short drawing , target panicked lil Hill shooters are going to be given a damn good learnin !

I also am taking Rod out chasing deer [ I don't hunt from treestands ... not many here in Australia do , but i have secured Rod a dandy of a spot with a tree stand all set to go and as of last week there 14 deer an evening seen beneath it , incuding a couple of big stags ] and , rabbits and maybe hogs ... I'll post some pics when i get the chance . Seems like a good bloke to deal with [and I've been following Jim Castro's progress/improvements over the while] so me and the lads are dead keen for some coaching.

Hoping to get the man onto an Aussie deer ...

Don't cut him any slack!

Rod is a good dude--straight up, and the real deal. Have to watch the sucker though--he'll drink your liquor, take your women, and kill your biggest deer--worst part is he's so smooth that he'll have you thanking him for doing it!

Remind him to take lots of pictures for us poor suckers that can only dream--he's gettin' old and is liable to forget his camera......

Yeah, and be sure to take notes--I didn't. He'll cover things that you'll forget. You're short drawing days are over. Did I mention to take notes?

If you Aussies live up to your reputation, you'd better get a designated scorer, 'cause otherwise nobody'll remember who won. :D

Just for the record, the tales of the Aussies and their drinking prowess are greatly exaggerated. When my wife and I were in Sydney a number of years back, we spent the afternoon in a nice little pub called the Lord Nelson. A couple of local stone masons couldn't drink any more than I could, roughly about 6 schooners of Three Sheets, one of the Lord Nelson's fabulous Micro brews.

Only difference between those two and me was the fact that when it was time to leave, they walked out and my wife took me out in a wheel barrow.
